Hi Folks,

Its July already and summer is here at last!

This month Edenside has been having a look at file sharing and P2P networks, what the law and where the end user (you) stand when it comes to Copyright and infringement. The UK file-sharing policy: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8219652.stm

· An extensive look into the implications, P2P sharing and all that Jazz http://community.plus.net/blog/2008/05/07/isps-file-sharing-p2p-uk-law-and-all-that-jazz-a-follow-up/

· What is a bad cluster? (A common issue!) A bad cluster is a hard disk cluster which has been flagged by the file system as being corrupted or damaged in some way and thus will no longer be used for storing data. HDD have physical 'heads' which read the surface. These heads comes loose or a piece flakes off. That is basically why a sudden bad cluster is almost always the sign of an impending failure. Of course you can just scratch your HDD by dropping it or incorrect shutdown, while it’s doing its thing. The "che-chink-che-chink noise" is usually the stepper motors failing. At the end of the day it’s a electro-mechanical device which is being thrashed; lots can go wrong.
